All I can say is WOW!!
I bought my Grill Dome last fall, and I have probably used it more in 8 months that I
used my old grill in 4 years. I have had gas grills, charcoal grills & charcoal grill/smokers.
All worked (more or less), but I could never get the consistency I wanted.
With the grill dome, I have done 14 hour cooks (pork butts) at 220 with just
a few tweeks to keep the temp where I wanted it to be. I could never do
that in my old smoker. The thing is that it is really easy to get the temp you want.
I thought there would be some trial & error to get it right, but it is really easy.
And that is one of the real secrets. I have found is to get the temp where you want it,
and keep it there, nothing I have ever used compared to the Grill Dome.
I have cooked turkey, chicken, fish, pizza, steaks, vegetables, you name it.
I have even done some potatoes & onions in an iron skillet. They all turn out great.
Probably my favorite has bacon wrapped scallops. I am always trying new things.
Anything you can cook in an oven, or grilled over coals, you can do with the Grill Dome.
The difference is that it just tastes better.
When I bought my Grill Dome, I also bought the extra racks just in case I would need them.
I use them much more that I thought I would. Now, when I cook pork butts,
I cook baby back ribs on the top rack. Sometimes I throw on some sausage along with
everything else. I also bought a remote temp gauge from Ron (Maverick et-73 dual temp probe).
This thing tells the temp of both the food & the grill. While it is not required for
most things, it takes the guesswork out of turkeys & pork butts.
Needless to say, Iam very happy with my purchase. And Ron has been a great help.
I have called him on a few occasions, and Ron always had an answer for me.
